Spring Break

Last week for spring break, Adam and I went to Disney World for five days by ourselves! It called it our late honeymoon since we decided to cram getting married, have two receptions, Christmas, and New Years all into two weeks in 2010. Anyway, it was a lot of fun!

At times I got a little sad because we were at Disney World surrounded by children, with no child. But most of the time it was fun and tiring. Apparently I don't know how to relax on vacation, because despite the fact that we had five day tickets, we had hit all of the main things by the end of the second day...including Downtown Disney. I had been there three times before, but for team things and I was only used to having a few hours at a park per day. But we visited all the parks twice and we saw a lot of shows which I had never seen so it was fun. Or favorite was beauty and the beast! We went to it twice:)  We also went to one of the Disney mini golf courses!

The train conducted kept saying, "Please stay sitted, please stay sitted," and we thought it was funny and said that at the end of every ride for the rest of the trip.

About to go on one of our favorite rides the Tower of Terror:)

The FIRST time I've ever seen a lion walking and not sleeping!
Another of our favorites in the background, Expedition Everest!

Animal Kingdom, one of my favorite parks...well they're all my favorite!
Adam posing with Mater. It was the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival and I'm a  little bit of a plant nerd so I really liked all of the topiaries and flowers! Lucky Adam got to pose with most of them:)

EPCOT!
Pre-Star Tours Ride

It had to be done.

Dessert at Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie
The legit mini golf course we played at. I won by one stroke:) (Actually two when I realized the cap for each hole was six!)

We also were able to go "sailing" with our friend Cupcake's parents! We didn't really get to sail because there was hardly any wind, but it was still a relaxing and enjoyable day. We went to a tiny island in the gulf and found lots of seashells and sand dollars.

On the little island
In the cabin
"on a boat"
Unfortunately, the week ended and now we're back to the grind of school. BUT there's only 7 more weeks left and then I GRADUATE!!! (Assuming I pass all my classes...) I'm pretty excited. And Adam probably is too. Not just because that means I can work and be his suga mama while he goes to school, but because he's been hearing me say "I hate school" for the last 6.5 semesters...endless math homework does that to you, ok?

We Love McKinley:)

Awhile ago, Adam and I received our Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep pictures from Tara Reiners Photography! She was so wonderful and came in at like 3 AM to take pictures for us.  She convinced me to have this picture taken, even though I didn't want to be in any of the pictures.  But, I am SO glad that I did because now it is my favorite and I like to see myself with McKinley:)

I share this picture with the internet world because although having a stillborn is a terribly hard experience, it is not horrific and can actually be peaceful.  And I think this picture portrays that.

That being said, it has been over three months since McKinley was born.  The healing is going pretty well, but we do still miss her.  We sleep with a teddy bear we refer to as McKinley Bear and we even took her to Florida with us. :) Occasionally nights are hard, and we sometimes have to leave the baby sections of stores quickly, but overall we are healing.

Isn't she beautiful? We can't wait to meet her:)

Lessons Learned from Dunkin

Always try whining first. Only do something yourself if whining doesn't work. (Definitely the one I use the most...)

Always aim for treats before you stoop so low as to eat healthy food.

Peppers are delicious.

Cuddling is good and blankets are a must no matter the temperature outside!

It's exciting when you get to go on an adventure but at the end it always feels good to be back at home.
